Otoplasty (ear reshaping)
Otoplasty is a type of cosmetic surgery to adjust the size, positioning, or shape of your ears.
Otoplasty is a surgical procedure to alter the shape, position, and overall proportion of ears. This could be done for a number of both aesthetic and medical reasons, such as one of both of your ears ‘sticking out’. Ear symmetry is often the ultimate reason for having otoplasty.
You should be able to observe an immediate and permanent change in the appearance of your ears. However it’s important to ensure your expectation are realistic during your consultation.
Recovery time varies from person to person, but typically you will need to stay home for a week or two post-surgery. You will have to wear a bandage for three days and will be given pain killers for discomfort. It’s normal to feel an itchy sensation. Once bandages are removed your ears will be swollen, You’ll wear a headband for two weeks to protect the ears from trauma. You’ll be allowed to resume daily activities around one-week post-surgery.
